Why Art Psychotherapy?
Art therapy activates both hemispheres of the brain, engaging sensory, emotional, and cognitive processes that promote integration and healing. Through creative expression, neural pathways related to regulation, memory, and meaning-making are strengthened — allowing insight and transformation to emerge organically.
Art therapy can help resolve conflict, improve relationships, manage behaviors, reduce stress, and foster insight. It also offers the joy of creative expression.

How do I know if it's a good fit?
You might be drawn to art therapy if you often feel “stuck” in your thoughts, long for a new way to express what words can’t quite capture, or want to reconnect with your creativity as a form of self-understanding. Art psychotherapy can be especially helpful if you’re ready to explore your emotions in a slower, more embodied way through color, image, and metaphor while feeling supported in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space.
My ideal clients are curious & open to growth. They are navigating family conflict, identity, immigration, queerness, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, & are seeking creative, supportive healing.

What is a session like?
I strive to create a space that feels safe, affirming, and gently challenging. We might talk, make art, or blend approaches. You don’t need to be an artist; just open to exploring. Sessions are available online via video through a HIPAA-compliant virtual platform, so you can engage in therapy from the comfort of your own space.

Can it be fun?
Yes! Therapy can be tender and hard, but it can also be fun and playful. In art therapy, creativity, curiosity, and even a little silliness can help you explore feelings, discover strengths, and grow in ways that feel joyful and alive.
